In a blog post today, Scott Guthrie announced that the final release of the ASP.NET and Web Tools 2012.2 update is now available for download. Guthrie, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft’s Server & Tools Business, said that the update adds some new features to ASP.NET and Visual Studio — including enhancements to Visual Studio web tooling, the ASP.NET Web API, the ASP.NET SignalR library, and ASP.NET MVC and Web Forms as well as improvements to Windows Azure authentication.

The ASP.NET and Web Tools 2012.2 update is a free download for Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5. Guthrie said that the update will also be included with the upcoming Visual Studio 2012 Update 2 (VS2012.2).
